That, and seeing my children’s smiling faces when they wake up! (But only after, let’s say… 8:00, mmkay?)
I tell ya, this stuff is so good!
The Best Chai Tea MIX. EVER!
Move over Starbucks, you ain’t got nuthin’ on this!
The Best Chai Tea MIX
adapted from allrecipes.com
1 cup nonfat dry milk powder
1 cup powdered non-dairy creamer
1 cup French vanilla flavored powdered non-dairy creamer
2 cups white sugar
1 1/2 cups unsweetened instant tea
2 teaspoons ground ginger
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground cloves
1 teaspoon ground cardamom
Whipped Cream (optional, but not really)
In a large bowl, combine milk powder, non-dairy creamer, vanilla flavored creamer, sugar and instant tea. Stir in ginger, cinnamon, cloves and cardamom. In a blender or food processor, blend 1 cup at a time, until mixture is the consistency of fine powder. (You will want to be sure to process this for several minutes.) I cut down the sugar some by doing half Stevia and half sugar.
To serve: Stir 2 heaping tablespoons Chai tea mixture into a mug of hot water. Top with fresh whipped cream, optional.

I seriously have this every morning. (I don’t always have whipped cream on top. Only on special occasions, like when the kids haven’t found my whipped cream stash and sprayed all of it in their mouths. Special occasions like that..)
I’ve been able to keep my kids from being interested in this tea. I tell them, “it’s for adults, and kids don’t like it.” I also tell them, “it’s just tea, you wouldn’t like it.” So far, it’s working.
What?! Some things need to be sacred! Am I right?!
This would make great gifts for teachers and friends. Be prepared. If you give this as gifts, they will probably ask for the recipe. Save time and print off the recipe and attach it to the gift. Makes great stocking stuffers too!
Just, whatever you do, don’t let your kids try this! You may never have any for yourself!
